SKATING NOTES

Began skating at the ages of 4 (Maia) and 7 (Alex) while growing up in Old Greenwich, Connecticut ... Began ice dancing together in 2004 when Maia was 9 and Alex was 12... Relocated to train in Colorado Springs for two years and relocated a second time to train in Canton, Michigan ... Have medaled at the US National championships for 11 consecutive years, at every level and every year that they have competed.

PERSONAL NOTES

Maia and Alex were born in New York City and Boston, respectively ... Currently reside in Ann Arbor, Michigan where they graduated from Huron High School (Ann Arbor) in 2009 and 2012 ... both are currently students at the University of Michigan ... Their ShibSibs YouTube channel, launched in July 2012, has over 50 original content videos which have garnered over 3 million views ... They have twice been guests of the Secretary State and the Vice President at US State Department functions honoring the Prime Minister of Japan ... Maia is a two-time recipient of the Women's Sports Foundation's Travel and Training Grant (2012, 2014) ... They are Athlete Ambassadors for Right to Play and Figure Skating in Harlem and support The Jimmy Fund, The ONE Fund and the Women's Sports Foundation.
