Kozuka is the 2011 world silver medalist and the 2011 Japanese champion.

Began skating at age 5 ... Broke through internationally in the 2008-09 season, winning the gold medal at Skate America and qualifying for the Grand Prix Final ... Father competed at the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in singles; mother is a former ice dancer.
