Oi will not compete in the 2009-10 season, instead focusing on his college career at MIT.

Began skating at age 6 when he saw skating on TV ... Skated in shows that support the Salvation Army and cancer research ... Has been on the Honor Roll ... Also earned the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Award in math ... Has a younger sister, Bryna, who placed third in intermediate ladies at the 2007 U.S. Junior Championships and will compete at the novice level ... Brother Aidan, 10, plays soccer and swims ... Father is a consultant and mother is a statistician ... Hobbies include playing online Scrabble and Boggle, reading and watching movies ... Favorite foreign city to travel to is Selva val Gardena because "the town was quaint, the view was amazing, and there were flowers everywhere" ... Has a passion for Scrabble, Boggle, reading, tennis and fusion energy ... Will start his freshman year at MIT in fall 2009 ... Plan to major in physics or nuclear engineering and is interested in exploring the potential of fusion as a clean energy source ...
