IN OUR WORDS

I look up to ... (de la Mora) my coaches for being able to come to this country and make a career doing something they both love. I also look up to many great figure skaters.

My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... (Wilson) being able to eat a lot of food because I am always hungry from training. I also enjoy my friends at the rink and meeting friends when traveling for skating. Traveling is always a fun experience.

My figure skating hero is ... (de la Mora) the pairs team of Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov. I admire their skill and love to watch videos of them skate.
... (Wilson) Maxim Trankov because of his amazing triple twist. And Gordeeva and Grinkov because of their awesome speed, power and unison on the ice.

My hobbies are ... (de la Mora) shopping, reading and hanging out with my friends.
... (Wilson) enjoying outdoor recreation like camping, hiking, rafting, swimming and fishing. I do not get the chance to do these things very often but when I do I always love it. I always try to get some friends together to go on camping trips or beach trips when I have the time.

My good luck charm is ... (Wilson) an old blister cover I keep in my skate bag. I wore this on my foot when I did a clean program at the Southwestern Regionals one year when I competed singles. It has always been in my skate bag since and occasionally I take it out but for some reason everyone gets disgusted and screams until I put it back in my bag.
