IN OUR WORDS
If I wasn't a figure skater ... (Hubbell) I would be in school to become a forensic pathologist. I have always had a fascination with this medical field, and I hope to pursue this interest once I have retired.
... (Donohue) I would be pursuing a career in music. I love to sing, and play guitar and the piano. I would love to be in a successful band or group. I love music.
My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... (Hubbell) that I am able to devote my life to doing what I feel passionate about, and by doing this I see the world and meet amazing people.
... (Donohue) Being able to express so many different stories and emotions through shapes and movements that can't be found outside of the dance world, and being able to take those passions and put them into a story for the world to see on the ice.
I look up to ... (Donohue) Travis Wall, Benji Schwimmer, Pasquale Camerlengo and Peter Tchernechev. They are all fantastic and talented skaters and performers. The modern dancers are inspiring with their creativity and range of expression and movement. And the skaters I admire for their passion, strength, great partnering skills and the way their movement is shaped on the ice.
I started skating because ... (Hubbell) I was a huge fan of Kristi Yamaguchi, and thinking that if I would dress like her, and put my hair in a bun, that I would skate like her. It has proven to be more difficult than just looking the part.
My hobbies are ... (Donohue) dancing, singing, playing guitar, cars and of course playing video games on the weekend.
My favorite thing about performing is ... (Hubbell) that I wear my heart on my sleeve, and in life this can help me and hurt me. When I am skating, I am able to be honest, and put my emotions into my movement. On bad days, I use skating and dance as a form of therapy.
I always
... (Donohue) say a quick prayer, take a deep breath, and crack my neck and elbow before I compete.
The best moment of my figure skating career thus far was ... (Hubbell) well, I don't think I can answer that now that I have skated with two people who I care about tremendously. My favorite moment with Zach was placing third at U.S. Championships. As for my partnership with Keiffer, we had many accomplishments, but none that could compare to the bond we share. Nothing could ever be the same without Keiffer at my side, and I carry him in my heart every time I step onto the ice.
... (Donohue) Placing 10th at the 2012 World Championships with my amazing partner. What an experience!!!!!
