IN OUR WORDS

If I wasn't a figure skater ... (Santillan) I'd definitely be a professional underwater basket weaver.

I look up to ... (Oltmanns) my mom and her dedication to the sport we both love. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be where I am today.
... (Santillan) the skaters who do more than bring home hardware. Skating and athletics in general go beyond the normal parameters of life. Those who help causes for unselfish reasons and reach out into the community, those who are focused on a greater good, my utmost respect goes out to them.

My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... (Oltmanns) That great feeling of accomplishment when achieving something you have worked so hard for. (And the tricks of course!)
...
(Santillan) how impressed my friends are after actually watching me. Upon first telling them I skate, they seem skeptical and tend to think it's just a hobby. After showing them a video however, their opinion changes pretty quickly.

My favorite thing about performing is ... (Santillan) being on stage. There's nothing better than putting on a show for the audience. When the crowd gets really into it, it feels like such an accomplishment. That's when you can say to yourself, 'Hey, these people came to see me, and I made it worth their while.'

After I'm done skating, I want to ... (Oltmanns) go to college, travel the world and stay very involved with the skating community.
