IN OUR WORDS

I started skating because ... (Cannuscio) my aunt used to be a figure skating coach at a local outdoor rink in New Jersey. She brought my sister and I skating one day, and it just stuck. I've loved skating ever since.
... (McManus) of my older sister Meagan. She began taking Basic Skills lessons at our local rink, and I would be dragged to the rink every week to sit and watch. Being a seven-year-old boy, I was far too energetic to just sit and watch. My parents decided to put a pair of skates on my feet, sent me out onto the ice and I have been skating ever since.

After I'm done skating, I want to ... (Cannuscio) go to culinary school! I absolutely love cooking and baking (mostly baking) and would love to one day become a pastry chef or have a bakery.

The best moment of my figure skating career thus far was ... (McManus) having the opportunity to compete in the senior ice dancing event at the 2012 U.S. Championships. Ever since my parents bought me tickets to see the 2001 U.S. Championships in Boston, I had wanted to compete at the senior level, and the experience was better than I had hoped for.

My good luck charm is ... (Cannuscio) a foam football someone threw on the ice for Colin and me our first year at the U.S. Championships. I have kept it in my skating bag ever since.
