Originally competed for the United States, winning the 2006 U.S. novice title, but chose to represent Japan beginning in the 2006-07 season ... Cathy was too old at the time of their win to compete as a junior internationally, so the Reeds accepted an offer to compete for Japan ... They are half-Japanese and hold dual American and Japanese citizenship ... Formerly coached by Andrei Stroukoff and Susan Kelley ... Switched coaches in the winter of 2010, when they began taking from Galit Chait ... Younger sister, Allison, is an ice dancer as well and has competed at the international level, representing Georgia with Otar Japaridze.

Cathy started skating at age 5 ... Enjoys reading and cooking.

Chris started skating when he was 7 .... Hobbies include reading and soccer.
