IN MY WORDS

I look up to ... my brother, my parents and my coaches. They all are the best role models I could have. I also look up to my grandparents; they are amazing people, and have taught me so much about my heritage.

My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... traveling to all sorts of places I wouldn't go without skating and meeting people who have become some of my best friends.

I manage my pre-skate jitters by ... listening to music and drowning out anything around me.

After I'm done skating, I want to ... pursue a career in the medical field, having something to do with athletes, so I can give back to the sports world that I have come to love.

My hobbies are ... guitar, piano, singing, hiking, volleyball, skiing and any other outdoor sport you can imagine.

MY FAVORITES

Warm up music: Dubstep/underground

Jump: Triple flip

Thing to do on a day off: Enjoy the outdoors

Way to relax: Play guitar with my friends (we're in a band...sort of)

Snack: Piragi (Latvian snack food)

Costume of my career: "Fiddler on the Roof" (2011). It was simple but really original and authentic to the music.

I PREFER

Gloves or No Gloves

Homecooking or Restaurant

Short Program or Free Skate

Rental or Theater

E-Reader or Book

Trail or Treadmill

Pre-competition nap: Yes
