Song is the 2010 world junior silver medalist, the 2009 Junior Grand Prix Final silver medalist and the 2012 Chinese champion ... Is the first Chinese men's skater since 2004 (Chengjiang Li) to medal at both of his Grand Prix assignments in the same season.

Started skating when he was 6 ... Enjoys music, badminton and computer games ... Previously coached by Sun Yi and Chungling Zhang.
