Started skating at age 5 because her family lived near ice rink ... She found that skating helped her to overcome a respiratory illness ... Defining moment in her career was going to the U.S. Championships in 2009 ... Lived in China for five years ... Younger brother, Jonathan, is a nationally-ranked tennis player ... After skating, she would like to pursue a career in sports medicine or sports psychology ... Supports Habitat for Humanity ... Admires Michelle Kwan ... Favorite words to live by are: "If you're walking with three people, you can always learn something good from at least one of them." - dad, Yuyang Gong ... Her family has moved a lot - "We moved from New Jersey to Beijing, where I learned most of my jumps, and back again multiple times before moving to California.
