Andreev is the son of renowned Russian choreographer and coach Marina Zoueva ... Andreev was coached by his
step-father Alexei Tchetverukhin for many years ... He was born in Russia, but moved to Canada with his mother as
a young boy and grew up there ... He speaks fluent Russian and English ... Andreev has played the violin for eight years ... His favorite skater is four-time world champion Kurt Browning of Canada ... Andreev burst onto the figure skating scene when he won the Canadian junior national title in 1999 ... He then won the bronze medal at the 2003 Canadian Championships ... He almost switched to pairs in 2003 to skate with Jennifer Kirk, but the partnership never fully materialized ... Instead, Andreev put his skating career on hold in 2005 to pursue his other interests -- modeling and drift car racing ... He lived in Hong Kong while pursuing the modeling career ... But he resumed his training in 2007-08 and returned to competition at the 2008 Canadian Championships, where he finished eighth.
