Marchei is a four-time Italian champion.

Began skating at age 9, after doing gymnastics for a couple years ... Credits her strong jumping to her gymnastics background ... Landed her first double Axel at 14 and was able to do most of her triple jumps within a year after that ... Made a major splash at the age of 17 at the 2004 Italian Championships where, in her first year competing at the senior level, she upset Carolina Kostner to become the ladies national champion ... Comes from an athletic, but not a skating, family ... Father was a two-time Olympian, competing as a marathoner in 1980 and 1984; he also finished second at the 1980 Boston Marathon and became the first Italian to finish in the top 10 at the New York City Marathon when he accomplished the feat in 1978 ... Enjoys being with her friends, listening to music and collecting cups from wherever she travels.
