Voronov started to skate when friends of his parents signed him up for figure skating classes, and he liked the sport immediately ... His parents wanted him to stop when he broke his collarbone in a skating accident two years later, but he insisted on continuing ... Moved to St. Petersburg in 2002 after his former coach, Rafael Arutunian, left Russia ... Voronov missed Skate Canada 2007 due to injury, but he recovered in time to earn his first senior ISU medal at the 2007 Trophee Eric Bompard a few weeks later ... Switched coaches following the 2009-10 season, going from Alexei Urmanov to Nikoli Morozov.
