Korpi's father, Rauno, is a well-known ice hockey coach in Finland ... He coached the Finnish womens ice hockey team to the bronze medal at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games and won national titles with his club, Tappara Tampere ... Kiira missed 2007 Skate America due to illness (sinusitis) ... Won her first national championship in December 2008 ... Is the first Finnish skater to win a Grand Prix event (2010 Trophee Eric Bompard) ... Enjoys reading and yoga ... Withdrew from the 2012 World Championships because of a leg injury.
