Broke through at the senior level with a gold medal at the Trophee Bompard in November 2007 ... At 17, he became the youngest Canadian men's champion when he upset soon-to-be world champion Jeffrey Buttle to win that title in January 2008 ... He won two gold medals in 2008 Grand Prix Series (at Skate Canada and at the Trophee Bompard again) and earned his first win at Four Continents, at the Vancouver Olympic venue no less, in February 2009.
