In 1999 she established the Nancy Kerrigan Foundation, in honor of her mother, to help non-profit organizations that support the vision impaired and in 2007 she was named a national spokesperson for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. In addition, Nancy also has been an active fundraiser for Campaign SightFirst and has participated in such benefit ice events as An Evening of Championship Skating, Kraft Dreams On Ice, Skate Against Hate and Stars, Stripes & Skates.

In 2001, Nancy was voted Outstanding Mother of the Year by the National Mother's Day Committee and also received the prestigious Henry Iba Award. More recently, in addition to her role as wife and mother of three, Kerrigan appeared in the 2006 FOX television program "Skating with Celebrities", served as a correspondent for "The Insider" at the Turin Winter Olympics and shot a cameo appearance in the movie "Blades of Glory" featuring Will Ferrell.
