Pennington is the only man to claim U.S. titles on each of the juvenile (1995), intermediate (1996), novice (1998) and junior (2001) levels ... Twice qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final, winning the bronze at the event in 2002.

Began skating at age 3 because he was so active the doctor told his mother to put him into skating and gymnastics ... Participated in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program in 1989 ... Formerly coached by Diana Ronayne (2003-05) and Janet Champion (2006) ... In his second stint skating under Carol Heiss Jenkins (1992-2003, 2008-present) ... Won several academic awards at Lakewood High School ... Teaches skating part-time ... Has directed a benefit skating show the last few years to support muscular dystrophy called "Skate for Life" ... Supports finding a cure for muscular dystrophy because his father was diagnosed with the disease several years ago ... Also supports breast cancer because he is close with several survivors ... Hobbies include tennis, ping pong, movies, shopping, hanging out with friends and cooking ... Most people don't know he would like to learn how to play the guitar and paint ...
