IN MY WORDS

I look up to ... all Olympians for their work and dedication to their respectives sports, as well as their ability to lay everything they have out on the biggest stage for the entire world to see and judge.

My favorite thing about being a figure skater is ... the mixture of athleticism and art.

My favorite thing about performing is ... my ability to express something to audiences by doing the one thing I love most in my life.

The best moment of my figure skating career thus far was ... the moment I finished my performance at the 2010 U.S. Championships and knew that I was going to be an Olympian.

MY FAVORITES

Things to do on a day off: Sleep and eat
Ways to relax: Watch television or Netflix or read
Olympic sports: Diving and aerials
Beverage: Gatorade
Snack: Hummus
Food: Risotto
Meal: Sushi
Program of my career: I think it changes from year to year. Each new season I think that the previous season's were the best. I love my "Exogenesis Symphony" free skate a lot because I had a very large part in choreographing it. It was very personal and a huge labor of love for me!
Costume of my career: The costume for my 2012 short program. It was very classic with a few modern twists. I loved the color and the suspenders. I loved the tailoring and how well it fit me and how good I looked in it. I always felt really good whenever I put on that costume.

I PREFER

Gloves or No Gloves
E-Reader or Book
Jump or Spin
Theater or Rental
Homecooking or Restaurant
Treadmill or Trail
Short Program or Free Skate
Pre-competition nap: Yes
