Began skating at the age of 9 after watching the 1998 Olympic Winter Games ... Younger brother, Stephen, plays lacrosse ... Formerly coached by Lynne Petta (1998-2000) ... Graduated from Marcos de Niza High School in May 2007 ... Won the school spelling bee at Fees Middle School in 2003 and later placed second in the district ... Most prized possession is his gold medal from the 2004 Triglav Trophy ... Hobbies include traveling, skiing, being with friends, ultimate Frisbee, going to the gym and playing basketball ... Favorite foreign country to which he's traveled for skating is Slovenia ... Says he is a very loyal friend and truly values all of his friendships ... If he could be on any reality TV show, it would be "American Idol" because he would be one of the bad auditions ... Used to be a gymnast before started skating ...
