Began skating at age 6 when he saw skating on TV ... Skated in shows that support the Salvation Army and cancer research ... Has been on the Honor Roll ... Also earned the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Award in math ... Has a younger sister, Bryna, who placed third in intermediate ladies at the 2007 U.S. Junior Championships and will compete at the novice level ... Brother Aidan, 10, plays soccer and swims ... Father is a consultant and mother is a statistician ... Hobbies include playing online Scrabble and Boggle, reading and watching movies ... Favorite foreign city to travel to is Selva val Gardena because "the town was quaint, the view was amazing, and there were flowers everywhere" ...
