(02/15/2013) - Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, the 2012 Canadian silver medalists in ice dance, have been added to the nation's world team roster.

The team had a strong showing during the Grand Prix Series, winning bronze at both their assignments, Skate America and Cup of China. Weaver and Poje were sidelined in December after Weaver suffered an injury to her left ankle in training and was forced to undergo surgery.

"Kaitlyn underwent a successful surgery, and the team is back on the ice in training mode," Mike Slipchuk, Skate Canada high performance director, said. "We will continue to monitor their progress over the next few weeks to determine their readiness for the world championships."

They will join duos Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, and Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier as Canada's three entries in the ice dance division.

Weaver and Poje are coached by Pasquale Camerlengo and Angelika Krylova in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Earlier this week, Canadian men's bronze medalist Andrei Rogozine was also added to the squad.
