Tuktamisheva's coach, Alexei Mishin, told R-Sport, "Liza had a back and knee injury. And another problem is her transitional age," Mishin said. "It's a tough period in the life of every girl, and Liza is going through it right now."
The now 15-year-old burst onto the scene in last season's Grand Prix Series, in which she defeated all three eventual world medalists. She won the gold at Skate Canada over Russia's Alena Leonova and Japan's Akiko Suzuki, who went on to win silver and bronze, respectively, at the 2012 World Figure Skating Championships. Tuktamoisheva followed that up by vanquishing eventual world champion Carolina Kostner at Trophée Eric Bompard.
She is also scheduled to compete Nov. 16-18 at Trophée Bompard.
