As part of the partnership, U.S. Figure Skating members will receive benefits pertaining to the 2012-13 Disson Skating Series. Special offers include ticket discounts; access to exclusive "Chalk Talks," question-and-answer sessions held with select skaters prior to each show; and, in some cases, early ticket-buying opportunities.
In addition to the live in-arena entertainment, NBC will broadcast the four-show Pandora NBC Skating Series. The live shows begin with "Musselman's Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute presented by Caesars Atlantic City" on Saturday, Nov. 3, in Atlantic City, N.J., while NBC will air the show from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (ET) Sunday, Nov. 18.
"Along with Disson Skating, we are happy to promote the sport of figure skating and our top athletes," said David Raith, executive director, U.S. Figure Skating. "We always welcome the opportunity to showcase our athletes on NBC. The Disson Skating shows feature unique concepts, making their shows entertaining and fan-friendly."
U.S. Figure Skating and Disson Skating will work with local skating clubs to host SkateFests in each of the four cities where a show will take place during the 2012-13 season. Free and open to the public, SkateFests provide the opportunity for skaters of all ages to participate in free group lessons based on their experience levels while meeting members of the show's cast.
Icenetwork.com Season Pass subscribers will also benefit from the partnership by receiving access to watch Disson Skating specials from previous seasons on-demand.
"Disson Skating has enjoyed its long-standing partnership with U.S. Figure Skating on our NBC skating and entertainment specials and is excited to showcase the top eligible skaters in America," said Steve Disson, president, Disson Skating.
Ticket and SkateFest information will be announced at a later date.
