Field announced for Junior Grand Prix Lake Placid

Farris, Hicks highlight U.S. entries at first icenetwork.com subscription event of 2012-13 season

(07/31/2012) - The field for the 2012 Junior Grand Prix (JGP) event in Lake Placid, N.Y., was announced Tuesday, and it includes reigning world junior silver medalist Joshua Farris and 2011 U.S. junior champion Courtney Hicks.

The event will take place Aug. 29-Sept. 1 at the 1980 Rink - Herb Brooks Arena. Competition begins Thursday, Aug. 30, with the men's short program, followed by the pairs short.

Icenetwork.com will provide live, full-length coverage of JGP Lake Placid to 2012-13 Season Pass subscribers. Information on how to order the 2012-13 Season Pass will be available shortly.

Other notables among the U.S. entries are the reigning national junior champions in pairs -- Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier -- and ice dancing -- Alexandra Aldridge and Daniel Eaton. Aldridge and Eaton also won the bronze at the 2012 World Junior Championships.

The international field is highlighted by the inclusion of 2011 world junior silver medalist Keiji Tanaka of Japan, Japanese junior champion Satoko Miyahara, 2012 world junior pairs bronze medalists Vasilisa Davankova and Andrei Deputat of Russia, and four-time JGP ice dancing medalists Evgenia Kosigina and Nikoli Moroshkin of Russia.
