Russian skating greats to perform in London
Theatrical ice dancing spectacular to feature Olympic, world champions

Russia.Sochi.Park is a multi-venue facility comprising Russia.Park, a showcase of Russian culture, and Sochi.Park, an interactive sports center that will also house the Sochi Ice Arena. The park, located in Kensington Gardens, will operate between July 26 and Aug. 12.
The spectacular is called "Sochi: Small Stories of a Big City" and stars six Olympic and 18 world champion figure skaters, including Alexei Yagudin, Roman Kostomarov and Tatiana Navka, Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin, Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin, and many others.
The show is created by former Russian ice dancer Ilia Averbukh, the 2002 Olympic silver medalist and 2002 world champion with former wife Irina Lobacheva.
According to the website, russiasochipark.com, "This first-ever musical on ice features elite sportsmanship, theatre, live music, ice dancing, acrobatics, and traditional and contemporary dance."
Dmitry Chernyshenko, president of Sochi 2014, told the London Evening Standard, "Everybody will be welcome, including Londoners and international tourists and sport lovers, to enjoy a spectacular ice show featuring the cream of Russia's Olympic skating champions. Our mission is to showcase the Winter Games when the entire Olympic movement is in London."
