According to the release, Krall initiated the split by offering her resignation from Chan's coaching team, which the skater accepted.
Chan moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in January 2010 to begin working with Krall. Under her tutelage, he firmly established himself as the preeminent men's skater in the world, racking up two world titles and two Grand Prix Final crowns while posting record-breaking scores.
Chan will continue to work with Kathy Johnson, a modern dance instructor and a current member of his coaching team, as he looks to find a new primary coach. He will remain in Colorado Springs while making frequent trips to his home in Toronto.
Earlier this month, Krall was named a finalist for the United States Olympic Committee's Doc Counsilman Science Award.
