Men take center stage at sixth JGP of season

(10/03/2011) - The competition at this week's JGP stop in Milan, Italy, is highlighted by the men's event, which features two skaters who have previously won gold medals and one who has won silver in the series.

2010 U.S. junior champion Jason Brown will compete in his second JGP of the season after placing first at JGP Australia. Competing against him is Russian junior champion Artur Dmitriev, who took silver at 2011 JGP Poland and is the son of Olympian Artur Dmitriev, Sr. Reigning Chinese champion Han Yan is a strong medal contender, having won JGP Austria by 25 points.

2011 U.S. junior champion Courtney Hicks competes in her second Junior Grand Prix event of the season after winning JGP Australia last month. Also competing is 2011 JGP Poland champion Julia Lipnitskaia. Lipnitskaia placed fourth at the most recent Russian Championships. Japan's Satoko Miyahara, who placed second at JGP Poland, is also in the field.

Ice Dancing
Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin of Russia will be competing along with teammates Valeria Zenkova and Valerie Sinitsin. Stepanova and Bukin placed first at JGP Romania two weeks ago and third at the 2010 JGP Final, while Zenkova and Sinitsin placed third at JGP Australia. Americans Lauri Bonacorsi and Travis Mager, who placed second at JGP Australia, will also compete in Italy.
