(06/07/2011) - While the most of the figure skating stars are skating in different commercial ice shows, 2002 men's Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin promotes a healthy lifestyle in his country. One of the most revered figure skaters of our time will be the face and mentor of a new nationwide project designed to revive the tradition of mass physical exercises in Russia.

Within two months, Yagudin will hold events which everyone can join. Free physical trainings will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan and Novosibirsk.

"Since my childhood I've gotten used to considering sports as an integral part of the life. I am sure that playing sports or simply daily physical exercises influences formation of character of the person. I hope that our project can make a healthy way of life trendy, fashionable and popular," said Yagudin at the press conference.

The Olympic gold medalist will be the main instructor and will personally show a complex of physical exercises from a scene.

The company-organizer wants to transform the Russian parks and beaches into platforms of healthy and productive leisure. Exercises won't be difficult, so everyone can join this action, regardless of age.

"I would like to achieve through this action at least the understanding of people that 30 or 40 minutes of their daytime can affect improvement of their health now and in the future. I know it myself because I was engaged in physical training all my life. And they really help to be charged by energy and help to manage various spheres of life more actively," said Alexei.

"The complex consists of 21 exercises. It is developed specially for this project by the repeated world champion of fitness Svetlana Pugacheva. The complex approaches for any age and level of physical preparation," he added.

Yagudin noted that in addition to getting people healthy, the program is also socially significant, so he agreed to participate in it with pleasure
