Baiul to headline "One Step Closer" in Central Park
Olympic champion will perform for AIDS charity

(03/18/2010) - On Saturday, March 27, Olympic champion Oksana Baiul will headline "One Step Closer," a special skating exhibition in Central Park's Lasker Rink to benefit AIDS Resource Foundation for Children. Directed and produced by U.S. adult gold medalist Tim David. Beginning at 2:45 p.m. Baiul and other figure skating champions will perform, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to charity. A silent auction featuring exclusive items, including signed Knicks and Rangers gear and autographed photos of Peggy Fleming and Alissa Czisny. Tickets are still available and range in price from $15-$40. "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to help AIDS Resource Foundation for Children," Baiul said. "I plan to the near future to open my own Charitable Foundation, I understand how a organizations, such as The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, does so much for the community and helps children in need." AIDS Resource Foundation for Children (ARFC) is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive and holistic services to children and families impacted by HIV/AIDS and offers transitional care to medically fragile infants. Its mission is to assist vulnerable families to engage in healthy lifestyles and become more resilient members of our communities.
