(02/13/2008) - Now it all makes sense. Last night we had the opening ceremony and guess where it was? In the Harmony Theater, the theater we had been dropped off at the day before! Maybe we were supposed to have done some kind of rehearsal?

We certainly could have used it.

The opening ceremony was actually a concert performed by the Goyang Philharmonic Orchestra. They were beautiful. The not-so-beautiful part of the concert was the opening, in which the skaters from the different countries were supposed to walk out on stage and down some stairs when their country's name was called.

Unfortunately, it was completely unclear that this is what we had to do. Half of Team USA got lucky and ended up backstage (and therefore got to walk across the stage), while the other half sat in the theater seats and watched.

While Charlie White and Ben Okolski walked across the stage, Meryl Davis and Brooke Castile sat in the seats wondering how we all got so mixed up. But we weren't the only ones confused. The team from Australia, the first ones out, said they had no idea what they were supposed to do once out on stage, so they all just lined up.

Luckily we just got on and off quickly. This was mainly due to the fact that Charlie White was trying to hide because he felt so bad that he had lost Meryl somewhere between bag check and some lady screaming "skaters."

We also had our team meeting yesterday, and I am so happy to report that I caught up with Stephen [Carriere] and he has already picked out music for Ashley Wagner. Next, he said he will think about Jeremy Abbott, and then move on to the ice dancers. I can't wait! I promise I will divulge all of his selections by the end of the week.

I really think we might have a Team USA in-flight performance choreographed by the end of the week. I ran into both Jeremy and Stephen inbetween warm-ups today, and we brainstormed for a second.

Maybe a little Michael Jackson's "Thriller" up and down the aisles?
