Icenetwork.com got a chance to follow him around on Friday, January 11th, as he appeared on The Today Show on NBC. Despite a rainy morning in the Big Apple, the ice was cleared off in time, and Lysacek performed a program set to the music of Michael Jackson and Chris Brown.
Lysacek said he enjoyed performing at events like this and that he just wanted to brighten up everyone's morning, especially on such a dreary day.
Despite the somber mood because of the news of Christopher Bowman's death, Lysacek did get everyone exciting with his program and catchy music.
Despite this public appearance, he remained very focused on the upcoming U.S. nationals. Staying busy actually helps keep him focused. He said his mindset won't be any different than it was a year ago, despite being the defending champion this time around.
"I never used to worry about scores, so why start now." Subscribers to icenetwork.com can see the whole conversation with Evan here.
