The Junior Grand Prix Series consists of eight international competitions for junior-level skaters hoping to qualify for the 2007 Junior Grand Prix Final in Gdansk, Poland, on Dec. 6-9.
The U.S. is expected to send a strong team that includes three of the four reigning U.S. junior champs. Among the top U.S. skaters expected to compete are U.S. junior ice dancing champions Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates and U.S. junior ladies champion Mirai Nagasu, who will be making her Junior Grand Prix debut.
U.S. junior champ Eliot Halverson and Brandon Mroz, who placed fourth at the 2007 World Junior Championships, will not be making the trip to Lake Placid, but 2007 U.S. junior bronze medalist Austin Kanallakan, 2007 U.S. novice champ Armin Mahbanoozadeh and Tommy Steenberg will be on hand.
