Foot injury knocks Edmunds out of RostelecomPierce pulls out of Trophée de France; Wang to skip Skate America
Reigning U.S. silver medalist Polina Edmunds has withdrawn from the 2016 Rostelecom Cup because of a right foot injury, U.S. Figure Skating announced Thursday.
According to the press release, Edmunds has resumed full training while continuing to undergo rehab. She still plans to compete at her second assignment in the Grand Prix Series, the 2016 NHK Trophy.
Also announcing their withdrawls from upcoming Grand Prix events were Tyler Pierce (Trophée de France) and Angela Wang (2016 Progressive Skate America). Pierce is still recovering from a lumbar sprain, while Wang is nursing a right ankle injury.
Mariah Bell was announced as Wang's replacement at Skate America.
