World champs highlight Team Europe roster at TCC

A pair of reigning world champions will compete for Team Europe at the 2016 Team Challenge Cup, competition organizers announced Wednesday.

Elizaveta Tuktamisheva of Russia and ice dancers Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron of France will lead the European contingent at the three-day event, April 22-24 in Spokane, Washington.

Other notables on the squad are Olympic silver medalists Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov of Russia and 2014 world ice dance champions Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte of Italy.

The rest of the athletes announced for Team Europe on Wednesday are Italy's Roberta Rodeghiero, Russia's Sergei Voronov, Czech Republic's Michal Březina and Italy's Nicole della Monica and Matteo Guarise.

Athletes are invited to participate in the Team Challenge Cup based on the ISU World Standings as of Jan. 1, 2016.

Team Asia will be introduced in Tokyo on March 9. Team North America was announced Monday.

Fans will also have the opportunity to vote one lady and one man onto each team (North America, Europe and Asia) starting March 9 and continuing through April 4 on
