Autumn International Classic to kick off in Barrie
Team USA sends 13 skaters to final tune-up before Grand PrixThe 2014-15 senior international season continues with the 2014 Autumn Classic, Oct. 15-16 in Barrie, Ontario. The event is the last before the Grand Prix Series begins next week with 2014 Hilton HHonors Skate America outside Chicago.
In its inaugural year, the Autumn International Classic is a senior-level event for singles, pairs and ice dance. Competition will be held Wednesday and Thursday.
LADIES
Angela Wang continues her season after winning bronze at the 2014 Lombardia Trophy. Barbie Long will make her senior international debut in Barrie.
MEN
Ross Miner is coming off a silver-medal finish at the 2014 U.S. International Classic. Miner, a three-time U.S. medalist, will also compete at the NHK Trophy. Alexander Johnson, who didn't compete last season due to injury, began his 2014-15 campaign with a sixth-place showing at the 2014 Nebelhorn Trophy last month. Timothy Dolensky returns to the international stage for the first time since finishing fourth at the 2012 U.S. International Classic.
PAIRS
Haven Denney and Brandon Frazier are the 2014 Lombardia Trophy champions, while Jessica Noelle Calalang and Zack Sidhu are the 2014 U.S. International Classic silver medalists. Calalang and Sidhu were added to the Cup of China roster last week.
ICE DANCE
Anastasia Olson and Ian Lorello, and Alissandra Aronow and Collin Brubaker will open their seasons at the event as well.
